BACKGROUND
Stan worked for AT&T (formerly BellSouth) for 37 years. The majority of that time, he worked in the training organization. Among the roles he fulfilled were technical instructor, course designer, project manager, administrator of professional standards, video production manager, and manager of training delivery. As a layperson, Stan has served the church in a number of ways. He led children’s church at his local church for 22 years, taught Sunday school, and served on various boards and teams. His primary calling has been to missions. He has served on or led more than 20 short-term mission teams in the Western hemisphere. He has been a regional representative for Mission Aviation Fellowship, a Lay Adviser to the Colombia field for OMS International and served on the board of directors of Servants in Faith and Technology (SIFAT). For six years prior to joining TMS Global full time, Stan served the church ministry department as a member of their advisory team and as an instructor of their Global Outreach seminar. Prior to his current position, Stan served TMS Global as senior director for church ministry.
Six years after retiring from TMS Global due to medical reasons, Stan joined the staff of St. James Church in Athens as the Director of Discipleship and Special Projects. Two years later that position was upgraded to Executive Minister, a position he currently holds.
PUBLICATIONS
Stan has regularly contributed to Unfinished, the quarterly publication of TMS Global and has been an occasional contributor to Good News magazine and Seedbed. He is also the primary author of the Guide for Developing a Global Outreach Plan, a process that helps the local church carry out a balanced, strategic outreach in its community and around the world; and the Conducting a Global Impact Celebration Playbook, a guide for planning and producing a high impact, annual mission event in the local church.
PERSONAL
Stan and his wife, Deborah, live in Bogart, Oconee County, GA. They have four adult children and seven grandchildren.
